Our Story

Over the past 30 years, Safe-Guard has evolved from a traditional third-party administrator to a next-gen Protection Products Platform that delivers comprehensive, scalable, and innovative protection products and solutions.
1992
Safe-Guard Products International is founded on the principle of providing world-class automotive protection products.
1998
Partnered with AutoNation to provide branded solutions, field support, and programs to service customers and scale growth.
2001
Entered into the Canadian market with lease protection products. Today, Safe-Guard Canada protects more than 260,000 customers.
2003
Partnered with our first automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
2006
Entered the RV industry through our partnership with Camping World
2007
Launched Safe-Guard University, a modern, comprehensive, and innovative F&I training program.
2007
Entered into the powersports industry.
2008
Sold our first marine protection product.
2009
Announced partnership with Carmax
2013
Partnered with Hyundai Capital America to launch a full-suite of protection products

Launched suite of protection products for Nissan Canada

Randy Barkowitz has more than 16 years of executive leadership experience in the extended protection product space. Randy has been leading Safe-Guard since 2008 when he joined as CFO. He was named CEO of Safe-Guard Products in 2011 and is responsible for the strategic direction of the company. Prior to joining Safe-Guard, Randy served as President of Warranty Corporation of America and COO of Asurion Extended Warranty. Randy was named Executive Chairman in 2024.

David Pryor joined Safe-Guard in 2013, bringing over 15 years of automotive OEM experience to our clients. Before joining Safe-Guard, David led the Jaguar brand in North America. Before that, he was the Vice President of Marketing at Porsche Cars North America. He has served in a variety of functions in the automotive industry including marketing, product development, finance, aftersales, and CRM. With his deep automotive and OEM experience, David oversees account management, product management, business development, and marketing.

Jardon Bouska joined Safe-Guard in early 2014 as Chief Operating Officer. Jardon is responsible for leading Safe-Guard’s day-to-day operations including call center operations, claims administration, contract processing, and supply chain management. With over 25 years of experience, he has worked in strategic management, business development, and daily operations in both corporate and startups. Prior to joining Safe-Guard, Jardon was the Division President for Biller Solutions at FISERV, which offers electronic billing and payment technologies.

Kaizer Siraj joined Safe-Guard in June of 2012 as Chief Information Officer and is responsible for overseeing Safe-Guard’s Protection Products Platform and technology-based solutions. Kaizer brings more than 22 years of experience in information technology, including strategic planning, acquisition and integrations, customer care, and marketing. He has led global implementation and product launches and run software development centers across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, including in C-level leadership roles in companies within the wireless and warranty/insurance industries.

Sylvia Taylor, an experienced HR professional, joined Safe-Guard Products International in 2013 as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. With a diverse work background, Sylvia has operated in various U.S. and international environments, including for The Weather Channel, AutoTrader.com, General Motors, PepsiCo, ExxonMobil, and Target. Sylvia is an active member of the Human Resources Leadership Forum (HRLF) and has served on the executive advisory board of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR). Recognized for her achievements, Sylvia has been honored with several awards, including being named one of the Top 10 Breakaway Leaders by the Global Human Resources Leadership Summit and receiving the Most Powerful and Influential Woman award from the National Diversity Council. Additionally, she was recognized as one of the Top Influential Women in Corporate America by Savoy Magazine.

Damon Wiener joined Safe-Guard in 2007 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Damon has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and warranty industry. Damon began his career working for Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John W. Oxendine as an enforcement attorney and has subsequently held various legal positions supporting both the underwriter and administrator sides of the finance & insurance business. With his industry expertise, Damon oversees the Legal and Compliance Department and represents the company in various industry associations, such as the Motor Vehicle Protection Products Association (MVPPA), which he helped establish and currently presides over as President. He is also an active member of Service Contract Industry Council (SCIC) and Guaranteed Asset Protection Alliance (GAPA) and currently serves as a board member with Consumer Credit Industry Association (CCIA).
